Shikisai

Hi y’all, I had a bonto and a ramen. Both were good. Not super delicious but decent. The service was pretty good though. Super friendly and nice. They were quick and always available. The atmosphere was ok. But that’s subjective. It’s very noisy in that store. The customers watched Insta, Facebook or whatever reels with sound. The restaurant has a simple setup. No music playing in the background. It wasn’t elaborately decorated with flowers or anything like that—just plain and straightforward. But that’s ok, it’s about the food right :) Overall I don’t get why this restaurant is underrated. In my opinion it’s a solid 4 star restaurant. I’d recommend this restaurant. King regards Peter

We celebrated my mother in law's birthday last night, and certainly we chose the perfect restaurant. Shikisai serves great authentic Japanese food with prices at value for money. The service is impeccable, even surprising her with a birthday cake and the staff singing her a bday song! My mother in law was truly overjoyed. Thank you for this memorable celebration!

My family and I ate here on Sunday at around 3pm. We were the only people at the restaurant. The place was clean and the ambiance was delightful. The food was prepared well and was very delicious. Their home made ice cream was also really good. The price is a little on the expensive side but I think it was fair considering the excellent quality of the food. Definitely a place I would want to eat at again.

We had a delightful lunch experience at Shikisai Japanese Restaurant in Mactan Newtown. Situated right on the main entry road to Megaworld, this contemporary spot is hard to miss, and trust me, you won't want to. From the moment we stepped inside, Shikisai exuded a modern and inviting ambiance. The service was prompt and attentive, making us feel welcome right away. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food! I opted for the sushi combination and a side of edamame. The sushi was incredibly fresh, with a beautiful presentation and a wonderful variety of flavors and textures. The edamame was perfectly salted and a great way to start the meal. My partner went for the salmon Bento box and the pork ramen. The Bento box was a feast for the eyes and the palate, with perfectly cooked salmon and a delightful assortment of accompanying dishes. The pork ramen was rich and flavorful, with tender pork and a deeply satisfying broth. According to my partner, it was a truly comforting bowl. Overall, Shikisai Japanese Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience. The food is undeniably delicious, the ambiance is modern and pleasant, and the location within Mactan Newtown is very convenient. Whether you're craving fresh sushi, a satisfying Bento box, or a comforting bowl of ramen, Shikisai is definitely worth a visit.

Food: 4/5 The ramen was decent, but everything else that we ordered tastes good! Especially the gyoza! Atmosphere: 4/5 Nothing over the top, but Japanese themed. We will be back to try out their other menus!

The japanese foods they have are so delicious including their sauce and condiments. It really adds up to the taste. We enjoyed the food during our first visit and we always look forward to the next. We included Shikisai already in our list of good restaurants in Mactan. Its located in the Mactan Newtown area.
